Hip Hop drawn with influences from Vogue, Pop, The Underground Art Movement and Baltimore club music are essential ingredients for the recipe of Kotic Couture (pronounced kāˈädik - ko͞oˈto͝or). Transplanted from Maryland’s Eastern Shore Couture now resides in Baltimore where listeners have labeled his sound as “Next Generation” and “Something Fresh”.
Recording mixtapes and entering remix contests with friend and frequent collaborator Tzeraa started off the career of Couture in 2009. After a small East Coast tour in 2012 Couture released his first EP entitled “Hey, Hello, Hi” in March 2013. Following the debut EP was the mixtape “Uncrowned King” which was released in November of the same year, and gained attention of Grammy nominated Singer/Songwriter B. Slade. A restructured release of the mixtape entitled “Uncrowned King: Royal Edition” was released to the internet in December of 2014. October of 2016 birthed the release of the visual to “Get Ya Life” a upbeat, unapologetic, feel good track with a catchy hook and the first release from the EP “Abstract” dropping November 22nd 2016.
The energy of Couture has been felt in many venues, cities and events in Cities around the East Coast including Artscape, Baltimore Pride’s Main Stage, DC Pride, 9:30 Club backbar, DC9, Kungfu Necktie and local DIY festival Kent Massive. Couture has hit the stage with heavy hitters such as Dan Deacon, Abdu Ali, Bond St. District, TT The Artist, Blaqstarr and with B. Slade opening for Lalah Hathaway at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
“Bold, Daring and Fearless” have been used to describe the talents of Kotic Couture, a new wave of energy with addicting beats and a undeniable stage presence. Couture has set out to be a force that makes you dance, feel inspired and fall in love with music along the journey.
